XGDF NEW YORK CELEBRATES TWENTY-THIRD ANNIVERSARY
The XGDF Association of New York celebrated its twenty-third Anniversary on 6th June 2009 with a cocktail reception for its members at the XGDF Club in Queens. The affair was attended by about sixty members.  Special guests included representatives of the X-Guyana Coast Guard Association , the Association of former members of the Presidential Guard and Immigration services (APGI) , and former GDF Lt. Winston Roberts (now serving with the United Nations Peacekeeping Forces in Sudan).
Four Life Members and five Regular Members were inducted into the organization in a brief ceremony. In his remarks, Association President I.C. Fraser noted, that consistently active members, were the glue that had kept the organization together for twenty-three years and that the same was expected for the future.
