REVIEW
The association has been raising funds by collecting membership fees, and hosting parties, domino tournaments and bus-rides .Despite
its small size, the organization has been generous to public and individual entities in the USA and has made donations to the Veterans
Foundation in Guyana..Of note, in response to the 9/11 attack, members immediately donated blood to the American Red Cross in a
group. Family Fun Days were held annually for several years. The current focus is on the Veterans’ Homewhich is under construction in
Guyana.
The association has an excellent relationship with the XGDF Association, New York , the Guyana Ex-Soldiers Association, Canada ,and
the Veterans Foundation in Guyana. Contact has been established with the newly formed XGDF groups in Atlanta and Guyana. Several
persons in the community have been honored publicly by the association for their contribution to the local Guyanese society. GDF
personnel passing through the region are received warmly in the homes of members.
