We regret the passing of another member of our military family Lt. Aubrey Welch.
Lt. Aubrey Welch died on September 17, 2010.
He enlisted in the Guyana Defence Force in 1977 and attended Officer Cadet Course #7.
Upon completion of the course in 1988, he was posted to Maritime Command (now Coast Guard)
and was commissioned to 2Lt. in 1979.
2Lt. Welch was subsequently sent for further training in London, England at the Dartmouth Naval College
where he successfully completed his training as a Naval Commander. He was promoted to Lieutenant
upon his return to Guyana in 1981. In 1983 he was again sent for additional training with the Royal Navy
in London, England and returned to Coast Guard in 1984 where served until his separation 1987.
There will be a service this evening Pastor Colvin (Billy) Clarke officiating.
